Bournemouth University International Foundation Certificate (BU IFC Scholarship)

This scholarship is offered to students who are studying the BU International Foundation Certificate (IFC) course at Kaplan International College, Bournemouth and who have applied to study an undergraduate course (Bachelors degree) at BU beginning in September 2011. Applicants must demonstrate they already have an outstanding academic and personal profile.
Which nationalities may apply for this scholarship?
All applicants paying fees at the ′international′ (non-EU rate) are eligible to apply.
To which courses does this scholarship apply?
All eligible BU courses agreed for progression from BU IFC.
How much is the scholarship worth?
£1000 payable for each academic year of the course (excluding the work placement or repeat year).
How is this scholarship paid?
Scholarships are paid by a reduction in tuition fee or by cheque.
How many scholarships are awarded annually?
Five.
What are the criteria for this scholarship?
An outstanding academic profile, relevant to the IFC course, as follows:
highest number of units falling into the A grade category (70% or above)
highest overall percentage grade for the course
highest IELTS scores.
Other information about this scholarship
Recipients of this scholarship cannot be in receipt of any other BU scholarship
Financial need cannot be taken into consideration.
Students from October and January cohorts who complete the full 30-week programme will be considered for the 5 awards.
How do I apply?
There is no formal application process for this scholarship which will be automatically awarded to the 5 applicants for September 2011 who meet the above criteria and who have met all their conditions by the end of the course. In the event that two students have the same highest score, their IELTS score will then be taken into consideration.
When will I hear if I have been successful?
Successful candidates will be contact in the last week of September 2011.
