Science and Engineering Scholarships

Queen Mary, University of London is one of London and the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions.  We constantly seek students of the highest quality, and, in recognition of the important investment that overseas students are making in their education, we are pleased to offer Science and Engineering Scholarships of £1500 per year to reward outstanding academic achievement.
These scholarships are applicable for all taught courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, in the following departments (with a small number of exceptions):
Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarships
We are also pleased to offer higher level Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarships of £3,500 per year to students with UK A-Levels at grades AAA or overseas equivalent or a UK First Class Degree or overseas equivalent (please see equivalency table).
These scholarships are applicable for all taught courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, in the following departments (with a small number of exceptions):
Eligibility:
  • Candidates must come from a non EU country and be eligible to pay overseas tuition fees.
  • Candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in their studies to date.
  • Higher level Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to students with UK A-Levels at grades AAA or overseas equivalent or a UK First Class degree or overseas equivalent (please see equivalency table) only.
Application procedures:
  • There is no need to make a separate scholarship application. All eligible candidates will be considered on the basis of the information provided in their application form.
  • Early application will increase the probability of you being awarded a scholarship.
  • Candidates must not be in receipt of any other College scholarship or full fee scholarship from any other source e.g. Chevening.
  • You will be informed whether you have been awarded a scholarship when we make you an offer of a place.
  • Higher level Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarship awards will be confirmed during the confirmation process for those with conditional offers.
  • Scholarship awards will be deducted from tuition fees payable to the College.
  • These scholarships are partial awards. Students must be able to finance the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses.
  • Scholarship awards for subsequent years of your course (e.g. years 2 and 3 of undergraduate programmes) are made subject to satisfactory performance on your chosen course.
