Introduction to FATA

What is F.A.T.A?
F.A.T.A is short for "Federally Administered Tribal Areas", a semi-autonomous region in North Pakistan running along the borderline between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
F.A.T.A consists of two types of areas i.e Agencies (or Tribal Districts) that are 7 in number and F.Rs (Frontier Regions) that are 6 in number.
F.A.T.A starts from Bajaur Agency in the north (near Chitral) and extends upto South Waziristan Agency in the South (near Balochistan) as can be seen on the FATA map.
